
If you’re looking for a little credibility in the stoner doom sphere, you could worse than having the imprimatur of one Scott “Wino” Weinrich, he of Saint Vitus, the Obsessed, Spirit Caravan, the Hidden Hand, etc. Brazilian quartet Pesta can boast of Wino’s vocal contribution on the track “Mirror Maze” on their upcoming third full-length, The Craft of Pain, a rumbling 10-song doom fest of sludgy guitar riffs, soaring vocals and a leaden rhythm section. These dudes—Thiago Cruz (vocals), Flávio Freitas (drums), Anderson Vaca (bass), Marcos Resende (guitars)—are vets in their home country, and are looking to spread their primal thud worldwide with this latest thunderous release.
The Craft of Pain is set for digital release on October 16, with deluxe vinyl editions to follow via Glory or Death Records (U.S) and distribution in Europe courtsy of Kozmik Artifactz. Please your preorder here.
