Spanish death/doom dealers Bocc have been called up from the cavernous depths they reside in to present Obrint El Taüt, a compilation of the band’s three EPs over the last five years. Being as the three EPs come from 2020, 2022 and 2024, the compilation is a good way to get an overview of the ways Bocc have grown and changed as a band.
Bocc’s brand of death/doom is in line with the likes of Autopsy and Coffins, placing heavier emphasis on the death than the doom in most parts, drawing influence from Bolt Thrower, Undergang and Hooded Menace.
“Obrint El Taüt (Open The Coffin) is a compilation, and is the first collaboration between the band and Horror Pain Gore Death Productions!” Bocc tell Decibel. “If you like bands like Coffins, Cianide, Autopsy or Winter, Bocc is definitively your band… the artwork of this compilation and of the most Bocc works are designed by the illustrator Narcís Boter who often works with Noxoious Ruin Mag, among others.”
Obrint El Taüt is out on June 13 via Horror Pain Gore Death but you can listen to it now via Decibel.
