On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, Jim Durkin, guitarist of thrash metal legends Dark Angel, died at the age of 58. As the worldwide metal community reels at the departure of an underground icon, Jim’s wife of 34 years, Annie Durkin, is shattered by her sudden loss. A GoFundMe is now active to help cover the costs of her husband’s final arrangements and medical bills. Any additional funds will go toward keeping the home that has been an oasis of hospitality for so many touring musicians passing through Los Angeles.
