So, how have you kept busy during the lockdown time of the pandemic? Maybe made some banana bread? Cleared our your Netflix queue perhaps? Well, Shane Embury released four fucking albums from four different projects. You’ve likely already had your ears filleted via new LPs from Napalm Death, Venomous Concept and Blood From the Soul, but back at the start of this nightmare, Embury quietly revealed Dark Sky Burial, his self-described “ambient horror soundtrack project.” De Omnibus Dubitandum Est‘s desolate atmosphere has in soundtracked much of the endless horror show that has been 2020, but Embury sees inspiration in all of this.
“I am really happy with the response so far to the project and it really means a lot to me,” Embury tells Decibel. “This year has been tough on all of us but also a definitive inspiration for my second album, which I have already finished and just need to mix. The title for the second DSB album is called Quod me nutrit me destruit, which translates to what nourishes me, destroys me.”
Expect the album soon but, in the meantime, you can watch the Chariot of Black Moth-directed video for “De Omnibus Dubitandum Est” below.
