Long Island-located rage artists False Gods began venting their existential hostility officially in 2016 with the release of their debut EP Wasteland. Even then the New York quintet wanted nothing to do with genre restrictions. Over the course of their next two EPs, they continued to let the songs’ themes shape their sounds, rather than letting an enforced subgenre dictate how their songs should sound. In their own way False Gods first found and then worked their sound into the junkyard deity that’s risen on No Symmetry … Only Disillusion, their debut full-length recording.
Out this Friday on CD from Cleveland’s Seeing Red Records, No Symmetry … Only Disillusion was produced at The Thousand Caves Studio by Colin Marston and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.
“We have poured every emotion we have into making this record,” says Greg March, one of False Gods guitarists. “Every ounce of love, hate, pain, misanthropy, existential dread and self-loathing that we have in our hearts we were able to channel through us and put it all on wax. Since day one, we have challenged the parameters of what one could expect from a sludge metal band. This record is a unique and uncompromising blend of noise, hardcore, post-punk, black and classic doom metal . Not one song on this record sounds alike. The record reflects the gamut of emotion that we feel daily throughout our lives. The good, bad and ugly.”
