After forming in 2016, releasing two demo tapes back-to-back in 2017, then following up with a wild full length in late 2018, Gall and Exile, the two masked Finns behind Aethyrick, finally return with 7 brand new tracks of their subtly gorgeous and grand black metal. We’ve got our work cut out for us if you expect us to describe the way this sounds. Suffice to say, if you’ve never heard Aethyrick before, prepared to be moved by today’s premiere of “Stellar Flesh,” off their forthcoming second album.

“The music in ‘Stellar Flesh’ is built on the dual foundation of simplicity and majestic atmosphere, and the lyrics support this approach by being somewhat brief yet highly condensed in metaphors describing the interplay of Self and Other in a rather poetic way. It’s about bringing starfire down to earth and elevating the spirit to the celestial courts in the high heavens. It’s about blurring the line between this and that, here and beyond, thus making the seemingly impossible possible.”
