Full Split Stream: Imprecation & Black Blood Invocation – ‘Diabolical Flames of the Ascended Plague’

Today we’re excited to share with our readers this unholy union between Texans Imprecation and Greeks Black Blood Invocation. Stateside Satanic punishers formed in the early 90s, while relative-newcomers Black Blood Invocation emerged from the Greek underground only a few years ago—but both members prove to be inveterate underground warriors. Whether it’s the crushing dark power of Imprecation or the grinding assault of Black Blood Invocation’s black metal, Diabolical Flames of the Ascended Plague promises to be heavier and more evil than whatever crumbly milquetoast you’ve stuffed in your ears now.

IMPRECATION

“Black Blood Invocation invited us to do this split with them, being that we’re fans of their music and vision we decided that we wanted to do one more split with a true underground band,” says Imprecation. “A split should be a statement, not just something to flood your discography. Being a death metal band it felt right to make our statement alongside a sinister black metal coven. We also wanted to get our new lineup on an official recording, so we felt this was a great opportunity to do that.”

“Two years have passed since our latest EP Atavistic Offerings to the Sabbatic Goat,” Nyogtha of Black Blood Invocation points out. “During this time we focused on the new material and how it will sound. It was vital for us to evolve but to keep also the fundamental and obligatory bond with the underground spirit and attitude. Our patience paid back and we inked a blood pact with Satanic death metal veterans Imprecation . . . .”

BLACK BLOOD INVOCATION

Imprecation on their contributions to this split: “Two new songs in the form of ‘A World Consumed in Fire’ and ‘Swine Full of Maggots’ were written for the occasion, and we felt that ‘Emperor of Infernal Spirits’ would be a great choice to revisit since we perform that song on our current setlist.”

“Black Blood Invocation’s side delivers 3 brand new tracks plus an intro of sulphurous blackened death/war metal,” explains Nyogtha. “Barbaric yet pitch black, the burning effigy of Moloch will guide you through the bronze chambers of primordial mysticism and the orgiastic rituals of Melchom.”
