Track Premiere: Howling Giant – ‘Comet Rider’

The space lord motherfuckers of Howling Giant aren’t your garden-variety lazy-ass stoners – far from it in fact. From 2015 through 2017 the released an EP’s worth of infectious stoner/doom/psychedelic space rock material each year. We’ll cut ’em some slack for not delivering another in 2018, because they were clearly prepping for their full-length debut, The Space Between Worlds, which will see the cosmic light of the universe via Blues Funeral Recordings on September 27. And we’ve got a first toke in the form of the track “Comet Rider.”

“’Comet Rider” was the first song we wrote for this album,” says Howling Giant guitarist/vocalist Tom Polzine. The overarching concept of The Space Between Worlds explores the idea that when we dream, we are in fact creating worlds that are just as tangible and legitimate as the waking world we live in. ‘Comet Rider’ focuses on the main character of our concept, who has the ability to access and manipulate all dreams via a nexus point within her own dream world.”
