Track Premiere: Hippie Death Cult – ‘Unborn’

Portland, OR fuzz doomsters Hippie Death Cult have been steadily pumping out singles into the digital world since their formation in early 2018. Not even two years later, they are about to unveil their self-released debut, 111, this Friday, July 26 (you can preorder now via their Bandcamp page. If you dig the idea of Layne Staley fronting Saint Vitus, then you’re gonna want to tune into this exclusive preview jam from, 111, “Unborn.”

“In my mind, ‘Unborn’ like all of the songs on this record, stands on its own stylistically,” guitarist Eddie Brnabic tells Decibel. “This song in particular brings out some of the darkest and heaviest aspects of the band both musically and lyrically. It touches on the subject of society’s general disconnection with our natural world, our selfish controlling needs, and nature’s indifference to our existence. The theme of the album in general serves as another reminder to treat life, each other, and our planet with due respect.”
