The Decibel Magazine Tour started with a bang last week, selling out all four California dates and packing rooms elsewhere (tonight’s show in Portland and tomorrow’s in Seattle are selling fast!). The tour stopped in Santa Ana on Friday, Feb. 22 and Decibel friends Church of the 8th Day were there to catch every second of the show on video.

During Blood Incantation’s set, you can catch a video of new song “Slave Species of the Gods,” presumably a cut from their highly-anticipated Hidden History of the Human Race LP, which is set for a late 2019 release, followed by a ripping set from Necrot.

Morbid Angel make good on bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker’s promise to perform a career-spanning (no, that doesn’t include Illud Divinum Insanus) set, reaching as far back as Blessed Are the Sick to go along with a number of tracks from their latest album, Kingdoms Disdained.

Cannibal Corpse followed Morbid Angel with a set that also spans their career, opening with a trio of picks (“Only One Will Die,” “Code of the Slashers” and “Red Before Black”) from 2017’s Red Before Black and hitting numerous other albums before ending with the essential “Hammer Smashed Face.” Live guitarist Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, ex-Morbid Angel), who is filling in for regular guitarist Pat O’Brien, seems completely comfortable with the band on stage, which comes as little surprise given that he engineered and mixed Kill, Evisceration PlagueTorture and Red Before Black.
