For the uninitiated, Pissboiler are not a pleasant band. Their brand of drone/doom moves at an almost glacially slow pace; noisy, heavy guitars drag themselves along at a crawl with blown-out roars and screams narrating the lyrical horrors the band have conceived.
On Att Med Kniv Ta En Kristens Liv (in English: “To Take The Life Of A Christian With A Knife”), the lyrical theme revolves around a real-life murder, complete with samples of the actual emergency call.
In the vein of similar bands like Khanate and Burning Witch, Pissboiler’s songs are long and slow-moving, relying on an atmosphere as much as the notes played. They do it well with Att Med Kniv.
