New Jersey stoner trio Acid Priest did a lot of things right on their new offering, Drop Out. An amped-up combination of stoner/doom metal, prog, punk and rock, Drop Out is energetic, loud and psychedelic. The EP nods to a large number of influences without aping it in a generic style.
Acid Priest aren’t secretive about their influences either.
“We just make the music we want to hear and we are probably the only people who wanted to hear what it would sound like if Andy Latimer from Camel listened to Motörhead and Electric Wizard,” guitarist Zakk Mild tells Decibel.
