According the band’s official Facebook account, Iron Man guitarist Al Morris III passed away today, January 10, 2018, at the age of 60. A founding members of the revered Maryland-based old-school doom act, whose most recent LP, South of Earth, was released released via Rise Above Records in 2013, Morris was a longtime fixture of the extremely influential MD/VA/DC doom metal scene. No cause of death has been revealed at this time. Decibel sends our thoughts and sincere condolences to Morris’s family, his Iron Man bandmates and the doom metal community at large.
