Gojira’s “Magma” Blazes the Path on the August 2016 Decibel Meter

In April we announced our partnership with f.y.e for the Decibel Meter, a monthly collection of titles featured both online and in store that we’ve been using to try to …influence…. the neighbors with the annoying dog to move. The current list, pertaining to the August 2016 issue with Gojira on the cover, can be found here.

Our picks for the issue begin with Magma, the sixth full-length from the environmentally conscience prog/death/groove cover stars. Other standouts include Gruesome’s Dimensions of Horror, their homage to Scream Bloody Gore (and a must-have for any old school fanatic), Khemmis’s tidal waves of hazy riffs on Absolution, and the self-titled debut from dB-Tour Headliner Abbath to dispel the summer heat with some frostbitten riffing. And for a change of pace, Uncanny Valley, the second full-length from darkwave pre-eminent mastermind Perturbator, transports listeners back (and forward?) in time to the midnight sci-fi soundtrack to the movie we all wish existed.

Hence, if your CD player or turntable is in need of some new ammunition to finally push those neighbours into finally moving (and taking that annoying dog with them, obviously), head straight to the nearest f.y.e location to grab these titles in person, or over to the Decibel Meter page at f.y.e.’s website, to stockpile immediately.
