Song Debut: Mirrors for Psychic Warfare, the New Project from Scott Kelly and Sanford Parker

This morning we heard from Neurosis’ Scott Kelly and Steve Von Till about the band’s 30th anniversary and accompanying live shows, in addition to some words from their comrades in arms. To continue (sort of), we’ve got a song debut from Mirrors for Psychic Warfare, a new project made up of vocals/guitars from Scott and electronics from acclaimed producer/engineer Sanford Parker (also of Buried at Sea).

Ambient(-esque?), but tense and brooding, “Oracles Hex” sits heavy, so fans of both associated artists will find plenty to enjoy here. Regarding the track, Scott had the following to say: “It’s a simple path that leads to a complicated vision. Always in flux and never yielding to the destroyers.”

While that seems like a strange description before listening, it makes perfect sense after — which we’ll leave for you to work on while you stream below. The self-titled debut of Mirrors for Psychic Warfare, which was recorded by the duo and mixed and mastered by Parker, will be released April 22nd on Neurot Recordings. Pre-orders are available here.
