Back in April, notorious Shining frontman Niklas Kvarforth may have cheerily noted that “everyone, everything, everywhere ends” on his band’s ninth full-length, but gear-grinding Swedish black metallers Diabolicum are still very much alive, with Kvarforth as frontman no less (taking over for Aeon’s Tommy Dahlstrom)! Ia Pazuzu (out July 7 on Code666) is Diabolicum’s first full-length in 14 years, and “Silent Spring” is your latest taste of new savagery. “The world has not gotten worse,” the band collectively comments. “Just more disgusting.”
