No, this doesn’t sound like Prong. Sometimes the (labored) headlines just write themselves around here. Vancouver progressive quartet Neck of the Woods mean business. Operative word: mean. Their self-titled EP has no shortage of dual guitar acrobatics, but all in the service of rabid forward momentum, not pointless whack-off noodling. They back a ton of Decibel faves on their Facebook page (BTBAM, Converge, Gojira, DEP, ETID, Misery Signals), and have similar crossover appeal. Oh, and their frontman, Jeff Radomsky, is a former pro skateboarder! Check out the crushing “I Know Where I’ll Bury You” in advance of their s/t EP release May 22.
