We don’t know if Anchorage metallic hardcore outfit She walks by moonlight, but if their debut full-length, Goodpaster, (no idea) is any indication of their extracurricular activities, they definitely enjoy brutalizing earholes. This frost-bitten Alaskan foursome—Andrew Sims (vocals), Mercy Cofield Jr. (guitar), Justin Costiniano (bass), Justin Rodda (drums)—has been honing its razor-sharp grind/noise/crust attack for 15 years resulting in this 13-track crusher, which shows off the unit’s mathy chops, progressive adventurousness and unrelenting hardcore fury.
Goodpaster was recorded, engineered and mixed by Taylor Young at the Pit Recording Studio (Nails, Kruelty, God’s Hate) in Van Nuys, CA and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Obituary, Year Of The Knife, R.A.M.B.O.) in Portland, OR. It’s set for release on vinyl and digitally, June 16 via Ox Blood and Bone Records. You can preorder it here.
Here’s what the band had to say about the album:
“I think we can all agree that this is our strongest and most focused creative effort to date. An immeasurable amount of blood, sweat and tears has made this LP come to fruition, and we’re extremely proud of the final product. To say that we’re excited for the public to finally be able to hear it from start to finish would be an understatement.”
