If you dig through the archives, you’ll find that I’m on record as being a huge fan of music videos where a guy is being stalked by a mysterious menace, and at the end we find out that the guy and the menace are the same person!
Now, I’m not gonna give away the ending of this new video by Idaho quintet THROES, but it will only take you about 90 seconds to figure out the twist in the chaotic “Fang.”
UK director John Bradburn put together this short and brutal jewel, helping celebrate the upcoming cassette release of the band’s 2019 In the Hands of an Angry God, their truly devastating full-length debut of sludgecore riffs, caustic feedback and vocals delivered with the kind of intensity that would give most people an embolism.
Also, this very night, March 24th, the band is playing Treefort Music Festival along with Deafheaven, Holy Fawn and Midwife at The Egyptian Theater in Boise at 8pm.
The band has a 7″ coming out in August on The Ghost Is Clear Records/Mishap Records, but let’s focus on the task at hand before we’re dragged away by a violent, yet curiously familiar, stranger:
Pre-order the cassette of In the Hands of an Angry God right now or just regular order it tomorrow on March 25th at Low Sea Records.
