EXCLUSIVE: Stream “Amenra: A Flood of Light” for FREE Until July 5!

With the impending release of their Relapse Records debut De Doorn (out this Friday), Belgian post-doom artisans and recent Decibel cover stars Amenra are quickly extending their influence past their European borders. From humble beginnings as a group of friends who shared a common interest in skateboarding and hardcore to establishing an art collective of like-minded individuals under the moniker of the Church of Ra, the band’s unique blend of emotional and trance-inducing metal, ritualistic stage shows and arresting visual identity has gained these lifelong friends a devoted following across the globe during their decades-long career.

Providing a window into their world comes Amenra: A Flood of Light, a beautifully shot and edited documentary from artist Bobby Cochran. With archival live footage from the duration of the band’s existence as well as interviews with members of Amenra and the Church of Ra collective, A Flood of Light is a mesmerizing look into their meticulous processes and many accomplishments, all rooted in a friendship stronger than any challenge they have faced. Decibel, in conjunction with Amenra and Relapse Records, is proud to stream the documentary for free and in full right here and at our YouTube page from now until July 5, 2021.

“I am extremely proud of this document,” proclaims frontman Colin van Eeckhout. “I am sure that this will be the document that we all will reach out to in the last years of our lives. It shows the love between the individuals that form the group. The friendship built through the years. Everyone gets his say.” The vocalist is also quick to heap praise on the creative lead behind this effort. “Bobby Cochran did an amazing job in showing the reality of it, the hard work, the solitude and togetherness of it all. Close enough to be a part of the group, new enough to be able to take distance and [make] decisions. He is an amazing artist and human being.”
