Full Album Stream: Eternal Returns — “Reprieved to Totality”

Heavy metal is not foreign to the Indian city of Thane: In 1955 a “flummoxed farmer” unearthed nine inscribed copper plates in his fields. “Little did he know that what he had dug up was a peep into the history of the region,” Kurush Dalal writes at Live History India, “stretching back over 900 years [to] a time when the area was under the Rashtrakutas and their Arab governor.”

Reprieved to Totality, the vital, brilliant debut full-length from Thane-based death thrashers Eternal Returns, is obviously a different kind of metal but diving into its five dynamic, serpentine, ultra-catchy tracks definitely give you a window into how that farmer felt sixty-five years ago:

Here is something unexpected.

Here is something precious.

Here is something beautiful.

Here is something extremely fucking heavy.

Four years in the making and dragged into existence through no small amount of sweat and struggle, Eternal Returns vocalist Narendra Patel tells Decibel that Reprieved to Totality is “a complete DIY effort.”

“From writing songs in our bedrooms to finally showcasing a record to the world,” he says, “all four of us went on an emotional ride.”

And now so can you, dear reader, with the below exclusive stream of the record — which hits all major online streaming services on November 14 — in its entirety. For more information and links to all band socials visit the official Eternal Returns website.
