Ironically, There’s No Stopping Death Metallers Eternal Rest

You may have missed it, but Brisbane death dealers Eternal Rest dropped their new LP, A Picture of Hatred, on Gore House Productions last Friday. Mixed and mastered by the legendary Dan Swanö at Unisound AB (Bloodbath, Incantation, Pestilence), A Picture of Hatred steamrolls the listener like an Aussie Misery Index. You can peep it below for yourself, but first vocalist Shanon Davern fills in the blanks on the band’s lyrical approach.

“The subject matter for The Picture of Hatred is still tackling the issues of mental health,” says Davern. “Being written from the perspective of a person possessed by anger and misery, it forms the message of negativity breeding negativity. Having a negative outlook on life can paint an awful picture of the world around us in our daily lives. The artwork is a good example of this message. Sometimes having a long hard look in the mirror is what can really make you see who the true artist behind your picture is.”
