First Wave of Bands & Breweries Announced for Decibel Metal & Beer Fest: Philly 2019

Get hopped in half on Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, 2019, as Decibel  brings the loudest, heaviest, two-day craft beer festival in the world back to The Fillmore Philadelphia for a third round!

Major acts confirmed to appear include progressive metallers Baroness, and post-black metal rising stars Deafheaven. Death metal legends Obituary will perform an exclusive set of their classic Cause of Death album in its entirety, while Norwegian black metal heroes Enslaved will unearth their Viking metal landmark Frost record in full as well. Resurrected thrashers Exhorder will make their first Philadelphia appearance in 27 years.

Old-school death/thrash gods Deceased, post-metal progenitors Rosetta, death metal upstarts Tomb Mold, Canadian grind crushers Wake, psychedelic doom trio Heavy Temple and death/doom new jacks Outer Heaven round out the first wave of bands on the bill with another headliner and more major acts to be announced in December!

Of course, this is a metal and beer festival, and Philly-area craft favorite Broken Goblet Brewing were born to present the weekend’s other vital component. “We are owned by metal musicians,” exclaims owner Mike LaCouture. “It’s in our blood and is a huge part of our history and how we came to be a brewery. Being a big part of the Decibel Metal & Beer Fest allows us to share our passion for beer and heavy music with thousands of metalheads in the area!”

In addition to Broken Goblet, the world’s most metal breweries have been selected to pour at the event. We can reveal that Three Floyds (IN) Burial (NC), Weyerbacher (PA), Adroit Theory (VA), Atlas (DC), Wake (IL), Burnt Hickory (GA) all will join is in Philly, and that we will announce another dozen attending breweries in November!

Special discounted early-bird weekend “Metal & Beer” tickets, entitling attendees to pours from each of the attending breweries all weekend long, are on sale now! So, what are you waiting for? Grab those tickets now, save a few bucks, and don’t worry about it selling out later. Philadelphia, let’s make it a tripel!
