Out this Friday on Blood Harvest, Abythic’s debut full length Beneath Ancient Portals is forty minutes of flesh-eating, bone-eroding death metal of the most virulent order. These days a quartet, Abythic certainly make good on the promise of their 2015 demo with their first LP. Eight tracks comprise Abythic’s debut, each bearing its own influences, from the caverns of US death doom to the imagined battlefields of UK future war-obsessed death metal. Yet these German diehards take little time in erupting forth with their own gestalt of bludgeoning melody and macabre groove.
