Brewtal Truth: Rage Drinking on Netflix With Aggretsuko

Nearly a year ago Japanese happy purveyors Sanrio—the company responsible for Hello Kitty, Kero Kero Keroppi, Chococat, Pochacco and many other fun-loving characters—added a decidedly dark character to its universe with Aggretsuko, a death metal-singing, rage drinking red panda. Aggretsuko is a timid, oppressed office worker by day and corpse-painted, beer-swilling growler by night.

And because there’s nothing more current than that, Aggrestuko is getting her own Netflix show this April, because, well, its’s 2018 and shit’s insane like that. Lucky for you you have a few months to stock up on your officially licensed Aggretsuko gear, including, um “toilet tissue.” (“Kids, friends and visitors will rave about your thoughtful details!” says the Sanrio site.)

One of these days, we intend to do a Q&A with Aggretsuko to find out her favorite beer, the best Carcass album and where to do some serious extreme metal karaoke in Tokyo. Until then, mark April 20 on your calendar, get your Netflix subscription in order and prepare to follow the life and times of the world’s most br00tal red panda.
