Hellhammer’s “Apocalyptic Raids” Inducted into the Decibel Hall of Fame

Tom Gabriel Warrior is no stranger on the Decibel Hall of Fame. With inductions for both Celtic Frost’s debut EP, Morbid Tales and debut LP, To Mega Therion, his legacy was cemented long ago. In fact, it was confirmed loooooooooong before Decibel ever spoke with him.

Which brings us all the way back March of 1984 and Hellhammer’s Apocalyptic Raids EP. The trio’s only official studio release helped carve the template for the first waves of black metal and death metal. Warrior, fellow ex-Celtic Froster Martin Eric Ain and drummer Bruce Day speak with Decibel in a seven-page story on the making of this extreme metal classic in the January 2017 issue, which is available right here
