Stream the “Death Metal Soundtrack to the Dark Corners of Sci-Fi” by Nucleus

Originally this post contained a lengthier introductory paragraph praising the unorthodox-yet-rooted-in-old-school sound of Nucleus, with mention of musical points of reference (Timeghoul, Incantation, Gorguts, Morbid Angel) as well as the Nibiru cataclysm. Instead, it seemed more descriptive to lead with the quote sent to us by Dave Muntean, guitarist/vocalist for the aforementioned Chicago cosmonauts:

Sentient is our death metal soundtrack to the dark corners of sci-fi, where a three meter tall metal creature free of the confines of time impales humans on the tree of pain, and a single minded inmortal organism seeks to eradicate all competition to the finite resources of the galaxy. Only death lurks in the cold void of space.

Well then, there you go.

If that leaves you with any questions, below is the premiere of the outstanding Sentient, the band’s upcoming debut full-length (which is set to be released on April 15th via Unspeakable Axe Records). You can keep up with them via Facebook and YouTube, stream their two previous EPs via their Bandcamp, and pre-order Sentient here
