Portland’s Christian Mistress are an old-school kind of band, from the torn jeans to the dual guitar harmonies. Apparently that sensibility extends to their music videos as well, as “Open Road” proves. With a VHS aesthetic and cars older than the band members themselves, plus an enigmatic antique mirror, vocalist/director Christine Davis creates an uncanny world that feels like something you’d find on a worn-out tape in a dusty corner of an old video store. It’s awesome, of course. The song comes from their upcoming second full length, To Your Death. It’s the real deal for anyone who likes early Iron Maiden and husky-voiced singers – which should be everyone. Check out the video for yourself below.
