We Exhumed an Unreleased Pentagram Track From 1971

Doom icons Pentagram are approaching their 45th year (brief hiatuses and name changes notwithstanding). While you wait for eighth studio album Curious Volume to drop this summer, kill some time flashing back to the very beginning. In the July Decibel, we premiere a heretofore unreleased 1971 rehearsal of “Bang It Out” via the Flexi Series.

Appearing on gold-on-red plastic, this up-tempo proto-doom charger captures the D.C. legends at their most raw and frenetic, establishing the inimitable sound that would make them dB Hall of Famers so many years later with their 1985 studio LP.
