STREAMING: Pagan Altar “The Time Lord”

Unless you’re heavy metalluminati Pagan Altar, perhaps like stateside and posi-message alter-ego Glass Harp, is an unknown entity. Now, most of the time, unheralded music from the ’70s is unheralded because it sucks. Or, the group never toured and the label folded upon release. Probably a few of those out there, right?
Well, UK’s Pagan Altar has existed in one form over another since 1978, writing what is called “a mountain of material.” Why it’s taken three decades for anyone to release Pagan Altar’s music is anyone’s guess, but better be late than not show up at all. Actually, some of Pagan Altar’s lead-driven proto-metal has seen vinyl, so there are a few dudes out there guffawing right now. That’s OK, ’cause new EP, The Time Lord, affords the non-table community to experience Pagan Altar’s booty-shaking, Wishbone Ash-like jams without all the room-heavy mechanics.

Think of this premiere and the September 11th release of The Time Lord as a preface for Pagan Altar’s eventual ruling of faces at Maryland Deathfest 2013. Yup, it’s going to be legendary.

** Pagan Altar’s EP, The Time Lord, is out September 11th, 2012 on Shadow Kingdom Records. Go forward in time and order it HERE. You don’t need a DeLorean or Dr. Michio Kaku’s theoretical physics know-how to do it either. Just a will and a wallet to hear some seriously righteous proto-metal/hard rock.
