A Copulation Most Foul: Exclusive Sextrash Stream! (NSFW, Obvs)

If any album boasting song titles like “Genital Tumor,” “Alcoholic Mosh,” and “Obscene Symphony” can be reasonably compared to a precious stone then, sure, Brazilian proto-blackened death metallers Sextrash’s raw, deliciously-nutty-meets-brutal-as-fuck 1990 full-length debut Sexual Carnage is one helluva singular hidden heavy metal gem.
Put another way, when the band’s label calls the record — which features ex-Sarcofago drummer D.D. Crazy — “beyond essential Brazilian filth,” they aren’t too far of the mark.

You’ll have to wait a week to get your grubby, horndog hands on Greyhaze’s gorgeously packaged remaster/reissue, but we’ve got the exclusive full stream today along with a few memories of its creation from bassist Krueger.

Recording the album…

During the time we recorded Sexual Carnage, we were four dudes looking at a big dream, to be as extreme a band as we could be. Everything flowed naturally during the recording of the album. We had Sexual Carnage in our blood! I remember [vocalist] Oswaldo [AKA Pussy Ripper] and I had this huge argument before starting to record but in the end of the day, we focused on the task at hand at got the album done. We were still kids and this was our second time in the studio, I believe.

The band’s influence and legacy…

We always feel honored about Sextrash’s legacy. We get really excited when we see that big bands that like us and even consider us an influence. When I saw that Impiety had covered our song “Black Church” that was a big deal to me. I think that’s why we’re still up and running to this day.

The relationship between D.D. Crazy and Sarcofago…

D.D. Crazy is an awesome guy. We’ve always been friends with the Sarcofago guys and we always hung out together back in the day. We were brothers. If Sarcofago were somewhere, Sextrash was there too and vice-versa. I’m still very good friends with Wagner (Antichrist) and we talk almost everyday. I haven’t seen D.D. in a long time but I’m sure we’ll get together soon to have some drinks and remember those crazy old times.

The Belo Hoizonte metal scene of the 80s…

In the 80s the metal scene in Belo Horizonte was massive. It had to be one of the biggest metal scenes in world. There were so many bands and so many different styles. We used to rehearse at the same place as the band Witchhammer. It was all about getting together listening to Metal and getting wasted. In the 90s things started to die down. A lot of bands quit. Today I think the scene is still active, but the craziness of the 80s is in the past. It doesn’t exist anymore.

The band name and theme…

We were so young and we all thought about sex a lot. Plus, so many bands were going into the Satanic thing. We thought we wanted to get away from that but still be extreme as all hell. Sex is awesome…thus Sextrash.

The infamous cover photo shoot…

It was like throwing a lamb to the wolves! That girl was beautiful. When she took off her clothes we were all bumping each other to see who could be closest to her. But nothing really happened, there were so many people at the photo shoot and the owner of Cogumelo was there too. So we had to behave.

Sextrash today…

When Oswaldo (Pussy Ripper) died, I didn’t want to have anything to do with this band for a long while. It was really sad and very depressing to all of us. He was such an awesome guy. The band went into a coma for a long time because of his passing. After a while I tried to get the original guys back together but it was just too difficult. But many years later we got a new lineup and recorded the album Rape From Hell. We are now working on songs for our upcoming album which will be totally raw, violent and dirty. Very much in the style of what we did with Sexual Carnage.
