Greek tech death quartet have compiled nine challenging, unique and recognizable technical, progressive death metal songs on Iridium, their third LP and first for Indian label Transcending Obscurity. Chunky, rhythmic guitars and a very clear rhythm section drive the song, pulling the listener through an angular, neck-snapping death metal odyssey; on “Absorbed in Greed,” Cerebrum find a balance between blast-driven, top-down death metal and riffs that burrow into your mind long after the song is over.
Iridium was mastered by Gorguts’ Colin Marston, which serves to improve the album’s overall quality and gives the album a familiar feeling for those familiar with Marston’s work with Gorguts, Dysrhythmia, Krallice, Imperial Triumphant and others.
