Cannibal Corpse Guitarist Pat O’Brien Arrested for Burglary, Assaulting a Police Officer

Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien was arrested Monday night in Florida after breaking into a family’s home and charging at a police officer with a knife, according to local news station WFLA.

Firefighters originally responded to a call about a fire at O’Brien’s home in Northdale, where ammunition inside the home was exploding as the fire burned. While the house was on fire, the sheriff’s office received a call regarding a burglary at a nearby home.

According to WFLA, a police report says that O’Brien entered the family’s home without permission, pushed a woman inside to the ground and went into their backyard. Deputies responding said they found O’Brien hiding “behind a fence near his home,” where he charged at them with a knife. From there, he was taken down and arrested by authorities.

O’Brien is charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling with assault and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
