Ah, I was more kidding than anything. This is one of the nerdier bands though. It's the real life Sacrifyx, but they aren't cool enough to open a gate to hell and try and kill Stephen Dorff.

Nah I'm a total dork, I embrace my dorkiness. But even Ghost is just a bit over the top for me. Then again the entire point of Ghost is to be over the top.

The point of Metal is to be bigger than life and over-the-top.
Anyway, my issue still hasn't shown up (grumble, grumble).
I'm sure this would be the case if Manowar or some corny Euro-keyboard band invented metal…however, I "highly" doubt that was Black Sabbath's intention or goal!

No fucking kidding. Some retarded ass sshit falls out of your face a lot of the time, LR, but that fucking killed it. "The Point of Metal".
I could wax philosophically about this because I think there's merit to that, but I'm going to conclude you'll not have any part in that since you've never really taken that seriously before. So I see no point in going that direction.
That said I think others have said it just as well, though unfortunately you can't watch youtube at the moment, so I guess this is more for everyone else.
I was basically alluding to what Chuck Klosterman (4:43) and a few others say above.

"Wax philosophical. Here, wax this- you just backed down again. Your stance is weak. Do you know why the majority of your "philosophy" threads don't go far and get derailed? Because they are fucking lame. I know which Chuck K part you're talking about. Don't care. That isn't the point of metal. There is no ONE point. I have actually been in bands, I have gone on a couple tours, I have written lyrics. Tell me what the point of it was.
Are we seriously arguing what metal MEANS? Really? This is as bad as the fucking black metal symposium.
I'm going to elaborate on this. To me, the best example I ever found of describing music was Terry Pratchett's Soul Music. It describes musics attributes perfectly. Music is not something that can be put into a neat little box. Its too alive for that. It affects you in too many ways to be pigeonholed. To me, if metal had any message, any meaning, it would be to give a voice to the side of you that has no voice. Thats how I see it. To disect it, to try to rationalize something that should not be rationalized is, frankly, idiotic.

Damn, Decibel has been on a roll lately with the Hall of Fame. The last three or four have all been excellent. The cover looks pretty awesome, I'm not a huge Amon Amarth fan though. And the flexi? Kinda meh this month.
Oh and it's in the back issue section of the store.
