For sure. A thou or eyehategod show would be a
a good place for residents of the boot state
to congregate

I'll be back in October, gone for nearly all of December, and then I move for good at the beginning of April '12.  It'll be tight, but I am sure something will work out.

Monroe. it blows because I have to travel out
of town most of the time to see a show. Though
bands sometimes find their way hee. I saw jucifer
here weekend before last and goatwhore plays
here often. I talked to mike williams in little rock and he said hes trying to get ehg to play here again

Well, you're doing better than I am!  There isn't a place to even have shows for at least a 2-3 hour drive.  I go to TX a lot and Baton Rouge and NOLA.  I saw EHG in Houma once too.  I used to live in Little Rock and I lived a block from Vino's which gets good shows all the time and they have great pizza and beer.

I feel your pain.  I went to LA Tech and I had a hard time as well going to good shows.  I saw EHG in Monroe…back in 05…I think.  They played at some small place in downtown Monroe.  I also saw Gaza  play in Monroe…that was a random show for Monroe. I also saw Crowbar a few years ago. Def alot more shows down in south LA. I try to catch Thou when they play and any Down or EHG.

Yeah abunch random bands have played here but
alot of that was due to my friend ringo. He use to
book a shit ton of bands here when he ran a venue
but it was largely unsuccessful since he booked
only bands that he liked and most people never
had heard of most of them so I dont think a lot
of people paid to come and see them so they had to shut the place down.
i unfortunatly was just 15 at the time and living in
the great parish of lasalle(pure sarcasim) so I missed out on all of them.

You have a friend named Ringo?  Is he more like Johnny Ringo from Tombstone or Ringo Starr.

really enjoyed Bestower, one of Monday's grindcore karaoke releases. Apparently all 3 released on monday were Buffalo bands which shared a few members and Bestower was opening for Weekend Nachos on Tuesday in Buffalo so I made the trek.
the venue was tiny and DIY.

the lineup was extremely diverse… Bestower was great and Weekend Nachos were good but played way too short of a set for how far I drove (only 15mins).

My wife is killing me on shows.  Last Saturday she saw Thou in a tiny art gallery (she also put them dudes up for the night and made them a pretty amazing breakfast and apparently they left me lots of presents- thank you Thou)  and last night she saw Murder By Death and The Life And Times and she sent me a little email saying she got me the latest boxset of vinyl from Murder By Death featuring every album they have ever done.

I am married to a hip, hip lady

Jakob you lucky bastard. Ive come to the conclusion
i will never see ewiz. Went to the metalliance show
last night and it was great. Red fangs van broke
down and they couldnt played. Atlas moth were
good but white dudes with flat bills on always
scream frat boy fuck and thats exactly how the
singer looks. Howl were decent too but they kicked
out the cutie on guitar. Everybody else was on the
top of their game and watching saint vitus was
godlike. Now I get to head home and see cough
in my shitty town of all places

You think Stavros from Atlas Moth looks like a frat dude?  I think he looks like the missing member of Gogol Bordello.  I think I saw Atlas Moth like 5 times in a month.  They open for everyone.  I don't need to see them again for awhile.

Dude it's worse in Chicago. They are literally at every fucking show, whether they are playing or not. And I wouldn't necessarily call Stavros a frat dude, but I would for sure call him a hipster.

Hey, I actually thougt of bands I would probably never see live earlier today. The ones that came to mind first was Pulling Teeth, Mind Eraser and Daughters.

As for EW they are cool live, buts it not like you have to see them live to fully get them or anything. They play the songs and thats more or less it. So as happy as I am to have seen them, youre not really missing out, if thats any good to you thumbsupThe drummer hits fucking hard btw. And the bass player seems like a cool dude.

It's funny that you picked those bands that you would never see.  I've seen all of them but haven't seen E-Wiz.
