That looks awesome. I can't even remember the last time I read a comic book. Probably Watchmen in college.
 

This may get mushy, but when I was a kid I read a lot of war comics (G.I. Combat,  The Losers, Iron Corpral, Sgt.Rock, Wierd War Tales, The Unknown Soldier, Sgt.Fury & The Howling Commandos).  Many of the artists that drew these series, such as Joe Kubert, Sam Glanzman, and John Severin became a major influence in getting my younger self to pick up the pencil. I found out Severin passed away the other day.  Granted, the man was 90 years old and I had never met him, but that really bummed me out.

Ever take her to the comic store?  Years ago I went to a local comic store with my girlfriend on a busy friday night and I could swear you could hear a pin drop as soon as we walked in.

Has everyone read allan moore's run on Swamp Thing? I just recently started reading it. It took some time to take off, but by the end of the collection (3 or 4 story arcs in) it gets really fucking good. 

 

Also, I've been enjoying Grant Morrisons stuff. Mainly the invisibles and the Filth, but I guess those are kind of obvious. 

Moore's Swamp Thing is awesome.  Some of my favorite comic stuff ever.  If you're reading Grant Morrison, check out his run on Animal Man.

A few problems here, a photo of the guy in a Trap Them shirt isn't helping your case any, and second, Danzig is definitely cartoony but I think people who have some sort of made up manufactured problem with Rollin's are the only people who find him "cartoony", one is worthy of mockery and one isn't...it's just how I feel. I also feel like the whole "having a sense of humor" thing is kinda bullshit and suspect, it's funny because it's not about you or your lifestyle, regardless of how many token gay punks think it's ok. Bottom line, like Trap Them and wearing a snowsuit in the summer...it's just not my thing.

I've been reading through The Walking Dead Omnibus (issues #1-48). I'm not sure I love it as much as the TV series, but it's well-paced and the dialogue is great. It's obviously a genre that Robert Kirman feels very comfortable in.

Walking Dead is great, nothing Earth shattering...but it's a fun read. It has spawned an insane amount of less than stellar quality knock-off's though, the Night Of The Living Dead comics from last year were pretty awful by comparison.
 

The Sir Edward Grey:Witchfinder offshoot of BPRD/Hellboy is really fun, but the trade should be out in September.
