The “Oh For Fuck’s Sake” in Ohio

I grew up in Ohio and even have the state outline tattooed on my miserable excuse for a bicep (with a skull and crossbones inside — YOU FIERCE, BOY!). So it gives me great pleasure to announce — two fucking days after April Fool’s, no less — that sanity has prevailed and the first date of the Decibel Magazine Tour has been royally fucked… by Jesus. The scoop from our friends at Good Fight Entertainment:

Agoura Hills, CA – April 3rd, 2012 – The highly anticipated inaugural Decibel Magazine tour kicks off in a mere eight days in Columbus, OH. It wasn’t too late, however, for the venue owners to prohibit the bands from appearing at The Brewmaster’s Gate. Behemoth, Watain, The Devil’s Blood, and In Solitude are being forbidden from playing at the venue because of religious conflicts with the venue owners. These bands are no strangers to this type of treatment, and a new venue has already been confirmed. The Columbus, OH show will now be at Al Rosa. Tickets for this show are still available and can be purchased HERE.

Behemoth’s front man, Nergal, comments further: “Wow, big motherfuckin’ WOW! We are facing a legendary moment: Amerika, the land of the free, is banning Behemoth coz of religious beliefs. The madness starts in Ohio, but of korz we are playing anyway. Nothing can stop us now. God, please save me from this freedom…”

Anyway, yeah, according to our calendars, it’s still 2012. Awesome, huh?

Ohio just became a PR machine for the dB tour!

here’s what ya do. find out who advertises with them and boycott the fuck out of em. make them lose money. You don’t fuck with Behemoth.

Al Rosa.  Best sound system in Columbus anyway!

      >Cough< what?
I'm grateful that the show was able to find another venue on short notice, but the Alrosa's sound is average on its best nights. And it has four Budweiser product beers on tap, the best (?) being Killian's.
Anyway, this is the third venue this thing has been scheduled into, it was originally announced for the Bluestone and then moved to Brewmaster's Gate.
I do find it interesting, sad and weirdly noble at the same time that the Brewmasters Gate owner's personal superstitions trumped the almighty god of the dollar.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to going and the Alrosa is a lot more convenient location to my house.

What beer product would you like?

        • ReallyGood@Wounding

If you want to keep an Ohio theme, a couple of taps of Great Lakes and/or Columbus Brewing. National brands that have more of a microbrew fell like Sierra Nevada and/or Sam Adams.  Yuengling.  Stuff that has more flavor than Bud Light.

Just remember, freedom of speech and religion go both ways.

  • Dragonsheart27

Doesn’t matter to me still going to be there…can’t FUCKING wait!!!

I wonder would a Satanist club owner allow a Christian band perform at his club????

  • dirtdog

This kinda makes me happy in a sick sort of way.  How good would a good bunch of Satanist musicians worth their salt(y blood) really be if they weren’t boycotted or picketed anyway?  They are in good company: Black Sabbath & Ozzy, Slayer, The Sex Pistols, GWAR, and on and on…

  • Wally Joe Footpowder

Sucks.  I’m coming in from Detroit, and booked my hotel right next to the original venue.  Hopefully getting to this new venue wont be a pain in the dick.

    • ReallyGood@Wounding

Easy, take 71 North to the Morse Road exit.  Turn left under the freeway and make an immediate right onto Sinclair Road.  The Alrosa is about a half a mile up Sinclair on the left hand side of the road.

unfortunately for Behemoth…noone really gives a fuck about you or your cookie cutter music or your un original stage clothes and make-up( well besides the legion of 12 year olds who dont know any better, but their parents wont let them go to the al rosa anyways because its the worst and most dangerous dive in columbas .lol).just a bunch of poseur , wannabe’s…so your attempts at getting some publicity from this have (FAIL) written all over it..noone cares..nice try tho.take your corporate death metal back to your country, and let the real death metal bands handle it from here.pussies

    • Horsecore

No one cares? Right. Especially, you the dipshit who just write 100 words about how no one cares.

    • Loutibbs

love how the jesus freaks bring out the trolls!

Cookie Cutter?  Have you even heard Zos Kia Cultus?  I bet you’re one of those idiots who bases your opinion of the band on hearing one song from Demigod.

If you make the cookie cutter are you guilty of being cookie cutter?

So your conclusion regarding death metal requires a band to be less successful? I think Behemoth has been around long enough to enjoy some success. I am not sure it is the 12 year olds you are referring to that are immature. I am 35 and like both ends of the spectrum myself but your take on this line up is a little bit absurd.
